Adjunct Instructor, Residential & Commercial Electricity

Horry-Georgetown Technical College seeks an Adjunct, Residential & Commercial Electricity instructor. The successful candidate will be required to teach Automotive courses at any Horry-Georgetown Technical College campus locations. This individual will report to the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Department Head and will be responsible for the following duties (this list is not intended to be exhaustive):

• Instructional planning, teaching, and learning; student recruitment, retention and advising.
• Assist in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment.
• Maintaining standards of the National Electric Code.
• Work with Electrical program advisory board to maintain and enhance curriculum and assessment of program outcomes.
• Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and other duties; student advising, etc.
• Participate in available training to keep current in Electrical Technology.
• Instruct and evaluate students in a live work setting who are performing general service and repairs related to Electrical curriculum objectives.
• Teaching duties include fundamentals and competencies relevant to Electrical Technology

Duties include a flexible schedule of lecture and laboratory instructions, student advisement and registration. Must be willing to work split teaching shifts that require days and evenings on two campuses. Must fully embrace the responsibility for maintaining an acceptable number of students within the program

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. 

South Carolina master electrical contractors license. 10 years’ experience in industry. 5 years’ supervisory experience in industry. Three (3) years of teaching or training experience in the classroom or industry setting.
