Defensive Driving Instructor

Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking applications for a Defensive Driving Instructor certified by the National Safety Council (NSC) to deliver informative courses that promote safe driving practices. The instructor will facilitate NSC-approved curriculum.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver NSC Defensive Driving courses in accordance with approved curriculum and guidelines.
• Teach drivers with varying skill levels and driving behaviors
• Understand how to identify driver’s strengths and weaknesses
• Deliver an engaging, positive learning experience
• Motive students to be safe and responsible drivers
• Assess student understanding and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance and course completion records.
• Stay current with NSC updates, traffic laws and best practices in driver safety.

Commensurate with education and experience 

• Current NSC Defensive Driving Instructor Certification
• Experience in public speaking with the ability to lead effective classroom discussions
• High School Diploma or equivalent

• College Degree
• Prior teaching or training experience
• Familiarity with technology and basic troubleshooting
