Android/Linux Firmware Engineer, Poly Video Description - Location Requirement Candidates must perform the job in the posting location and be authorized to work in Taiwan. Position Overview Join our Taiwan firmware team supporting the development, execution, and delivery of Poly Video devices. In this role, you will develop Android/Linux-based embedded software, identify and resolve complex technical issues, and collaborate closely with global product stakeholders, firmware and hardware teams, and Taiwan-based ODM partners to bring high-quality video products to market. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, integrate, and optimize embedded software and firmware for Android/Linux-based video products. • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex firmware, networking, system integration, and product-level technical issues using structured root-cause analysis. • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and product teams to define system behavior, communication protocols, feature requirements, and integration approaches. • Partner closely with Taiwan ODMs and global product stakeholders to support technical execution, issue resolution, new product development, and successful product delivery. • Review software and firmware designs and implementation approaches, provide constructive technical feedback, and help improve product quality and reliability. • Guide less-experienced engineers, share technical knowledge, and contribute to the adoption and integration of new technologies and development practices. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. • 7+ years of relevant embedded software or firmware development experience, with strong C/C++ programming skills and understanding of object-oriented design principles. • Hands-on Android and/or Linux platform development experience, including system-level debugging, logging, networking, and root-cause analysis. • Experience with embedded systems and new product development, including hardware/software integration and early development board bring-up. • Professional communication skills in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and Taiwan-based ODM partners.
