The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating learning initiatives that enhance employee capability, performance, and career growth. The role partners with business leaders and HR stakeholders to identify development needs, create impactful learning solutions, and support organizational capability-building efforts.
This position combines learning strategy, instructional design, training facilitation, and learning operations to ensure employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Learning Needs Assessment & Capability Building
- Partner with business leaders to identify training and development requirements across departments.
- Conduct training needs analyses and competency gap assessments.
- Recommend learning interventions aligned with organizational priorities and workforce capabilities.
- Develop annual learning plans and capability-building initiatives.
Learning Program Design & Development
- Design, develop, and continuously improve training materials, facilitator guides, participant manuals, and e-learning content.
- Create programs focused on technical, functional, leadership, and behavioral competencies.
- Ensure learning content aligns with competency frameworks, performance expectations, and business objectives.
- Research and apply best practices in adult learning and instructional design.
Training Delivery & Facilitation
- Facilitate classroom, virtual, and blended learning programs.
- Deliver onboarding, professional development, and leadership training initiatives.
- Coordinate and manage external learning providers and training partners when required.
- Support managers in reinforcing learning application and behavioral change.
Learning Operations & Administration
- Manage training schedules, enrollments, attendance records, and program logistics.
- Maintain learning management systems (LMS), training databases, and employee learning records.
- Monitor training compliance and completion rates.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and analytics on learning activities and outcomes.
Learning Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Measure training effectiveness through participant feedback, assessments, performance metrics, and business outcomes.
- Analyze learning data and identify opportunities to enhance program effectiveness.
- Track learning KPIs and recommend improvements to support organizational capability development.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Support leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
- Assist in implementing competency frameworks and career development programs.
- Contribute to talent development, employee engagement, and organizational development initiatives.
- Participate in projects that strengthen organizational capability and workforce readiness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, Talent Development, or Organizational Development.
- Proven experience conducting training needs analysis and developing learning solutions.
- Strong instructional design and content development capabilities.
- Experience facilitating training programs for employees and leaders.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms.
- Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience in telecommunications, technology, BPO, shared services, or large corporate environments is an advantage.
