Software Engineering Internship – Automotive Data Pipelines

HTEC’s automotive teams are looking for curious and motivated students who are interested in working with data coming from real vehicles and modern sensor systems.
We welcome final-year bachelor’s or master’s students, as well as recent graduates, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

As an intern, you won’t be expected to know everything upfront. You’ll learn step by step, with guidance from experienced engineers working on real automotive projects.

During the internship, you will:

• Work on applications and data pipelines for processing raw data coming from vehicle sensors such as cameras, LiDAR, and GNSS/INS
• Use Python to process, transform, and analyse large datasets
• Learn how raw sensor data is prepared for manual and automated annotation
• Help build and improve workflows for validation and storage of annotations
• Get introduced to containerised environments using Docker
• Learn how cloud-based solutions are used in practice, including AWS services (e.g. Step Functions)
• Gain basic experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts (e.g. Terraform)
• Work with internal devkits and interfaces used to access and work with processed data
• Learn how to create reliable, maintainable, and high-quality data pipelines

This internship is ideal if you are interested in data processing, automotive systems, and understanding how sensor data is transformed into something engineers and machine learning systems can use.

We don’t expect expert-level knowledge. What matters most is your interest, curiosity, and willingness to learn.

• Basic knowledge of Python
• Interest in data processing and working with real-world datasets
• Basic understanding of how software systems and pipelines work
• Willingness to learn about data validation, testing, and quality
• A proactive mindset and readiness to ask questions

• Any experience with Docker
• Basic familiarity with cloud platforms (especially AWS)
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts (Terraform or similar)
• University or personal projects involving data processing or automation
• Familiarity with Git
• Interest in automotive systems, sensors, or data-driven development
