SynVivo Inc. is seeking a hands-on Microfluidics Fabrication Specialist to support the production, assembly, testing, and shipment of SynVivo's microfluidic organ-on-chip devices and related instrumentation.
This position is focused primarily on fabrication and production rather than research. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, dependable, and enjoys building things and solving practical problems. The successful candidate will work with small-scale components and materials, operate fabrication and laboratory equipment, follow established production procedures, troubleshoot devices and equipment, maintain accurate records, and ensure products meet quality standards before shipment to customers and research partners.
A background or interest in biology, biotechnology, microfluidics, or organ-on-chip technology is a plus, but hands-on technical ability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are the most important qualities for this position.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Fabricate and assemble microfluidic organ-on-chip devices and related components.
- →Operate and maintain equipment used in device fabrication, assembly, and testing.
- →Assemble, test, and troubleshoot supporting instrumentation and laboratory equipment.
- →Perform quality-control checks to ensure products meet specifications.
- →Follow standardized production procedures and maintain accurate manufacturing records.
- →Identify and troubleshoot fabrication, assembly, and equipment issues.
- →Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked production workspace.
- →Manage component and material inventory and communicate supply needs.
- →Prepare, package, document, and ship products to customers and research collaborators.
- →Assist with improving production processes, documentation, and product quality.
- →Work closely with engineering and scientific staff on new and existing products.
Requirements
~1 min read- Technical degree, associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing, engineering, biotechnology, life sciences, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work carefully with small components, tools, equipment, and detailed procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently.
- Good organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on laboratory/production environment.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience with microfluidics, medical devices, biotechnology, laboratory equipment, or precision manufacturing.
- Experience with cleanroom or controlled-environment manufacturing.
- Experience with assembly, bonding, machining, molding, or other fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with organ-on-chip, cell culture, or biological research.
- Experience with quality-control procedures and production documentation.
- Experience packaging and shipping technical or laboratory products.
