SynVivo Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist with hands-on experience in microfluidic organ-on-chip systems and cell-based models. The ideal candidate will have expertise in oncology, neuroscience, inflammation, toxicology, or a related field and a strong interest in applying microfluidic technologies to biomedical research.

 

The Research Scientist will design and execute experiments, develop and optimize organ-on-chip models and assays, analyze data, and collaborate with internal and external research partners. This role offers opportunities to contribute to new technology development, scientific publications, and grant proposals.

 

Responsibilities

  • →Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments using microfluidic organ-on-chip platforms.
  • →Develop and optimize cell-based assays and disease-relevant organ-on-chip models.
  • →Perform cell culture, including primary cells, and related molecular, biochemical, immunological, and imaging assays.
  • →Operate and optimize microfluidic devices, including cell seeding, perfusion, culture, and treatment.
  • →Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations.
  • →Collaborate with scientists, engineers, customers, and external research partners to develop technical solutions.
  • →Support development and validation of new organ-on-chip models, assays, and applications.
  • →Contribute to scientific publications, presentations, and grant proposals.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related field. Master's preferred; Ph.D. a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with microfluidic organ-on-chip, tissue-on-chip, or microphysiological systems.
  • Experience with mammalian and/or primary cell culture and cell-based assays.
  • Strong experimental design, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, microscopy, or related techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SynVivo or similar microfluidic platforms.
  • Perfused cell culture, 3D culture, co-culture, or extracellular matrix systems.
  • Organ-on-chip applications in oncology, neuroscience, inflammation, toxicology, or drug discovery.
  • Microfluidic device fabrication, surface treatment, or other platform-development experience.
  • Experience with quantitative imaging and data analysis.
