Key Responsibilities

The Recreation Manager is responsible for the planning, organization and day-to-day management of the hotel’s Recreation Department, ensuring guests enjoy engaging, safe and memorable recreational experiences. This role oversees all recreational facilities, programs and activities, including the beach, swimming pools, watersports, fitness and wellness activities, children’s programming, and the Camp Hyatt program.

The Recreation Manager is responsible for creating innovative experiences that enhance guest satisfaction while maintaining the highest standards of safety, service excellence and operational efficiency. This position also provides leadership, coaching and development to the Recreation team, ensuring a positive and engaging environment for both guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in recreation or resort operations, including supervisory or management experience.
• Experience managing beach, pool, children’s activities and recreational programming within a luxury resort environment preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel property management systems is an asset.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
• CPR Certification (required or obtained upon employment).
• First Aid Certification.
• Lifeguard Certification (preferred or required based on operational needs).
• Water Safety or Aquatic Safety Certification is an asset.
• Previous experience with international hospitality brands preferred
