  • You’ll provide senior-level field engineering support during active construction, including earthwork, bridge and structural elements (viaducts, foundations, CIDH piles, retaining walls), roadway, utilities, and grade separation elements.
  • You’ll review construction means and methods for compliance with plans, specifications, safety requirements, and constructability, with particular focus on structural work and sequencing.
  • You’ll understand how daily field activities impact critical path schedule, cost, risk, traffic handling, and public impacts and support resolution of field issues, conflicts, and unforeseen conditions with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • You’ll identify potential downstream impacts early and proactively elevate issues to the RE/CM team.
  • You’ll support coordination between design intent, construction execution, and contract requirements and assist with review of RFIs, submittals, structural shop drawings, change orders, and field directives.
  • You’ll support quantity tracking, progress verification, and pay estimate documentation and maintain accurate field records, daily reports, and photo documentation.
  • You’ll coordinate with inspectors, surveyors, utility owners, structural engineers of record, rail agencies (if applicable), and third-party stakeholders.
  • You’ll participate in construction meetings and provide informed technical input and communicate clearly and professionally with contractor supervision and client representatives.
  • You’ll support QA/QC processes and verification of work in place, particularly for structural concrete, foundations, and bridge elements.
  • You’ll reinforce safety expectations and compliance with project safety plans and assist with compliance related to environmental commitments, traffic control, and public agency requirements.
  • Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.
  • With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.
  • 10-15 years of progressively responsible experience in construction engineering or construction management.
  • 10-15 years of experience on transportation infrastructure projects with significant structures components (bridges, grade separations, retaining walls).
  • 10-15 years of experience in construction sequencing, means and methods, and contract documents.
  • 10-15 years of experience with construction documentation systems and standard CM tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Contractor experience on transportation-related projects as a field engineer, superintendent, or project manager.
  • Prior experience on public-sector projects in Southern California.
  • Familiarity with Caltrans-style specifications, local agency standards, and utility coordination.
  • Experience supporting change management and claims avoidance.
  • Direct experience with bridge construction, CIDH piles, and structural concrete.
  • EIT or PE (California)
