SY26-27 Middle School Special Education Teacher (5th–8th)

• →Provide targeted, high-impact instruction aligned to IEP goals through push-in, pull-out, small-group instruction, and co-teaching models as needed.
• →Design and implement accommodations and modifications that preserve rigor and access to grade-level standards.
• →Partner with general education teachers to ensure students receive consistent support across settings.

• Maintain excellence in IEP development, documentation, timelines, service minutes, and communication to ensure proactive, accurate, and timely compliance.
• Monitor progress toward goals using structured data systems; translate data into instructional adjustments and service changes when needed.
• Facilitate high-quality collaboration with families to ensure clarity, trust, and shared ownership of student progress.

• Partner with grade-level teams, interventionists, and special education staff to ensure students receive coherent and aligned support across classrooms.
• Participate in student support meetings and instructional problem-solving routines grounded in evidence and urgency.

• Build strong student relationships and contribute to an inclusive, structured environment where students feel affirmed and challenged.
• Communicate consistently with families, providing transparency into progress, needs, and instructional priorities.

• →Bachelor's Degree (in any field); Majors or minors in Special Education are preferred
• →Teacher Certification (lapsed certifications are okay) or enrollment in an alternative certification program (e.g., Teach For America, Capital Teaching Residency, City Teaching Alliance, etc.)
• →Experience with reviewing, writing, and implementing IEPs is preferred.

Salary Range: $64,890 - $81,039 (commensurate with 1-10 years of experience)
