We’re looking for an Annotator to join our growing team!

At the Intact Lab, we train machine learning models based on supervised learning and other approaches requiring large quantities of annotated data for use in building training and validation datasets.

To ensure that our models perform as expected, the Data Annotator is responsible for locating, labeling and categorizing as faithfully as possible large quantities of data from text, audio and image datasets, including phone conversation transcripts, chat transcripts, claims notes, photos of vehicle damage and more.

As Data Annotator, your excellent work will help the Lab’s data scientists evaluate existing and train new machine learning models.

Reporting to the manager of a team assigned to implement and structure Lab initiatives, you will work with our Senior Data Annotators and be trained to annotate data for various Intact Lab – Data Science teams using detailed instructions.

• →Annotate a variety of datasets based on provided instructions
• →Be a contact person for annotation, linguistic and French and English language questions
• →Collaborate with the Intact Lab – Data Science teams in defining and handling their data annotation needs  

• Academic background (bachelor’s degree) in translation, linguistics or other language-related discipline (an asset)
• Experience in translation, revision or other language-related activities (an asset)

• Demonstrate an eye for detail and consistency
• Accurate, keen sense of observation and highly disciplined
• Able to stay focused for long periods of time
• Dedicated to the task
• Able to adapt to change and cope with ambiguity
• Technology-minded
• Fluent in spoken and written French and English
• Understanding of concepts of applied linguistics
• Excellent keyboard skills
• High level of professionalism: punctual, independent, etc.
• Bilingual (French and English): Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country. 
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
