Head Start Classroom Aide

As a Classroom Aide in Watertown, SD, you’ll help the teacher keep learning moving and every child supported—so the classroom stays safe, welcoming, and full of momentum. 

Key responsibilities:
- Support children one-on-one or in small groups with lesson activities to introduce or strengthen learning concepts
- Help ensure the care, safety, and well-being of all children in the group
- Encourage healthy physical, social, and emotional growth by honoring individual differences, diversity, and cultural backgrounds
- Tidy and sanitize the classroom, learning areas, toys, and equipment; clean the bathroom as needed
- Assist the Cook when requested

Required qualifications/skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year of experience and/or training working with children (preschool or infant/toddler experience preferred)

Midday brings teamwork: resetting areas, pitching in where needed, and keeping things organized so the class stays on track. By afternoon, you’re wrapping up with clean-up, last check-ins, and that satisfying feeling that the room is set for tomorrow’s wins.
