Business Intern, Distribution Project Development, Summer 2027

A PPL Intern/Coop is a full-time college student, temporarily employed, who is enrolled in an accredited four-year institution. This program is designed to provide practical work experience in the student’s field of study, helping participants clarify their career interests. Eligible students must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree and maintain full-time enrollment.

 

The position is based in Allentown, PA and follows a hybrid work schedule. During the spring and fall semesters, interns work part-time (approximately 20–30 hours per week). Summer schedules may be either part-time or full-time (up to 40 hours per week). The company offers flexibility in arranging the part-time work hours (8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday) to accommodate the student’s class schedule.

 

Apart from daily responsibilities, students gain exposure to a corporate environment, acquiring practical skills and knowledge to complement classroom learning. Interns and cooperative associates at PPL have opportunities to:

This intern supports the Distribution Project Development team and gains a comprehensive understanding of purchasing goods and services, warehouse operations, inventory management, and data analytics. Through hands-on experience, the intern develops familiarity with PPL policies and procedures while participating in field walkdowns to evaluate project viability, assist with project scheduling, and gain exposure to the overall project development process.

 

 

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related degree.
• Maintaining full-time enrollment (at least 12 semester hours); students cannot continue as an intern/cooperative associate after graduation
• Holding a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Eligible to work under United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations
• Able to provide official transcripts and other required information
• 18 years of age or older

• →Project forecasting and scheduling
• →Supporting the preparation and monitoring of sourcing plans and projects

• →Acting as a liaison between engineering units and Asset Management
• →Tracking contract formation and purchase-related tasks, including coordination with legal and insurance for signatures
• →Preparing bid documentation for processes and proposal evaluations
• →Communicating with vendors, obtaining price quotes, and requesting completion of forms
• →Developing and maintaining spreadsheets for metrics and processes
• →Identifying and providing process improvement opportunities throughout the workflow
• →Performing other duties as assigned
