We are seeking a versatile geology intern to join our Minneapolis office for summer 2027. The intern will support consulting projects involving geologic data compilation, interpretation, visualization, and field investigation. The position may include up to two weeks of out-of-town fieldwork.

Responsibilities

The geology intern will support consulting projects by compiling, organizing, and interpreting geologic and geotechnical information from maps, reports, drillhole logs, core photographs, laboratory results, and field observations. The intern may assist with geologic mapping, core logging, data quality review, preparation of geologic cross sections, and development of conceptual or three-dimensional geologic models.

Under the guidance of experienced geologists, engineers, and consultants, the intern will document observations and interpretations; prepare maps, cross sections, figures, tables, technical summaries, reports, and presentations; and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project deliverables. Through this work, the intern will gain practical experience with applied geology workflows, field and desktop investigations, data quality review, technical problem-solving, and communicating geologic interpretations to project teams.

Requirements

· Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in geology, geological sciences, earth science, geoscience, engineering geology, or a related field.

· Minimum GPA of 3.0

· Ability to work on-site to accomplish the objectives of the position.

· Willingness to travel and periodically adjust personal schedule to meet project needs (project needs will vary)

· Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, team-based environment.

· Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without present or future sponsorship (e.g., H-1B, L-1, TN)

Preferred qualifications include coursework or experience in field geology, structural geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology, geologic mapping, core logging, geographic information systems, or three-dimensional geologic modeling. Strong written communication, attention to detail, and proficiency with spreadsheets and data visualization are also desirable.

· One hour of time off accrued and available to take for every 30 hours worked.

The anticipated base hourly range for this position is $22-28 per hour. This is a full-time, short-term temporary internship position based in our Minneapolis office and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Compensation will vary based upon relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
