Responsibilities

  • →Design and develops complex assembly processes, initiates process improvement initiatives for server rack assembly and integration, system level validation, and packaging as assigned.
  • →Support collaborative integration initiatives between Jabil and third-party automation providers for advanced server rack assembly automation.
  • →Participate in process improvement initiatives using Lean and data-driven methodologies to increase yield and throughput.
  • →Integrate machine vision systems (2D/3D cameras, OCR, barcode inspection) for automated quality validation and closed-loop feedback.
  • →Develops and implements changes to product design and/or the manufacturing process to achieve efficiency, quality, and/or cost improvements by participating in new product development programs.
  • →Develops requirement specifications, system concepts, CAD generated layouts, detailed drawings, BOM’s. Makes layouts of complex assemblies and details of parts of devices, mechanisms and structures.
  • →Generate system requirement specifications, automation layouts, electrical schematics, and functional documentation.
  • →Provides customer product design engineering for economic production; may participate in meetings with customers as needed.
  • →Assesses proper material, automation and equipment selection.
  • →Works with manufacturing to troubleshoot problems, improve yield, retrofits, set-ups, methods development, and the development of process parameters.
  • →Participates in product development meetings and may make recommendations to product design changes to enhance manufacturing and assembly.
  • →Conduct proof of concept experiments and design other testing requirements as needed.
  • →Research new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.
  • →Understanding of Lean Six Sigma tools, projects and processes and ability to incorporate these into assigned engineering projects.
  • →May assume lead role in small or sub-section of large project, as assigned.
  • →Reviews completed projects for accuracy, clarity and completeness.
  • →Ensures projects are compliant with all local, regional, and national regulatory requirements, codes and controls.
  • →Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
  • →May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • →Understands processes and has a basic understanding of various manufacturing techniques used across Industrial Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
  • →Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical CAD drawings.
  • →Knowledge of automation safety standards and industrial machine compliance requirements.
  • →Strong knowledge of engineering theories, design principles and practices, and design evaluation techniques.
  • →Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.

Education:

  • →Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • →Preferred: Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering

Experience:

  • →Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering discipline; a combination of 5 total years of transferrable manufacturing experience and/or technical project management experience

- OR –

  • →Master’s Degree in relevant engineering discipline; a combination of 3 total years of transferrable manufacturing and/or technical project management experience
  • →An equivalent combination of education, training or experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
