About the Role:

Jackson Hewitt is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Full-Time Tax Preparer to join our team in Tomball, and Spring, TX! Responsibilities:

Prepare and file accurate federal and state income tax returns for individual clients
Interview clients to gather necessary financial and personal information for tax preparation
Identify eligible tax credits and deductions to maximize client refunds
Review and verify tax documents including W-2s, 1099s, and other financial records
Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and Jackson Hewitt quality standards
Provide exceptional customer service and build lasting client relationships
Maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data with discretion

Requirements:

Prior tax preparation experience preferred; entry-level candidates with strong math skills welcome
Completion of Jackson Hewitt Tax Knowledge Assessment or willingness to complete training
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing interactions
Ability to work full-time hours during the tax season (January – April)
Proficiency with tax software and basic computer skills
PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) or ability to obtain one prior to start
