JioStar is looking to hire a content compliance professional who will be responsible for ensuring content compliance across all acquired and original programming by proactively identifying regulatory and legal risks, safeguarding brand interests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. A strong understanding of Indian digital and television content regulations and industry guidelines is essential.
Responsible for vetting all short and long form content including acquired and originally produced shows, films, clips, promos. movies, commercials, and social media posts from a content compliance perspective.
Pre-empt and identify any potential violations of the compliance code (OTT and Broadcast), internal policies, government and regulatory policies and any other legal violations. Protect the brand’s interest by flagging any potential risk of defamation, copyright/ trademark issues among others.
Day to day co-coordination with various teams and stakeholders across the organization like content team, marketing team, Operations, legal etc. for effective content compliance.
Study and develop a thorough knowledge of Indian content codes for Digital as well as television programs, movies and commercials (like OTT, BCCC guidelines, CBFC, ASCI etc.)
Advanced command on English and Hindi language (written/ spoken). knowledge of any other languages like Marathi, Tamil or Telugu will be an added advantage.
Excellent general knowledge and know-how of politics, religion and social topics.
Knowledge of local customs and sensitivity towards social/ human issues.
Good presentation and communication skills.
Genuine penchant for English/Hindi content on TV and OTT platforms. Should be up to date with the current Indian OTT universe’s happenings.
Be a consumer of social media content like reels/stories
Should be well-aware of current news and affairs.
Should have an eye for detail, be organized & self-motivated.
Should be high on personal accountability and take charge of tasks at hand.

Professional background: Candidates with S&P/entertainment content/programming/production backgrounds preferred. Please look at existing GEC S&P teams first followed by OTT S&P teams. Can explore profiles from content writing, editing, development, marketing, but essentially related to media background.
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Media/ History/ Sociology/ Literature or any related field preferably.
