The MES Co-op will support the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) team at the J&J Innovative Medicine Raritan manufacturing site. This position provides hands-on experience with digital manufacturing technologies that support the production of life-changing therapies.

The co-op will gain exposure to Electronic Batch Records (EBRs), manufacturing workflows, system enhancements, data analytics, validation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

The role offers an opportunity to collaborate with MES Engineers, Manufacturing, Quality, MSAT, Validation, and IT teams while contributing to projects that improve operational efficiency, compliance, and digital transformation.

Build practical experience in digital manufacturing, MES technologies, electronic batch records, and system lifecycle management while working on meaningful projects that support manufacturing operations.

• Support day-to-day MES operational activities and system monitoring.
• Assist with troubleshooting and investigation of MES-related issues.
• Maintain support documentation, knowledge articles, and work instructions.
• Help track and document system events and improvements.

• Assist MES Engineers with Electronic Batch Record configuration, testing, and updates.
• Participate in reviewing manufacturing workflows, forms, recipes, and business requirements.
• Support design reviews, demonstrations, and system change activities.
• Assist with barcode, equipment, and material management enhancements within MES.

• Analyze manufacturing and MES data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Develop reports and dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Support initiatives focused on process efficiency, data quality, and standardization.
• Assist with digital transformation projects across manufacturing operations.

• Support Computer System Validation (CSV) activities.
• Assist with testing documentation, execution, and evidence collection.
• Learn and apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Data Integrity principles.
• Support audit readiness and quality compliance activities.

• Participate in project meetings, workshops, and design reviews.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, MSAT, and IT teams.
• Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.

• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 

• Available to work full time for the applicable co-op term at the Raritan site. 

• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills. 

• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. 

• Proficiency with standard Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.

• Experience with SQL, Power BI, Python, or data analytics tools.
• Interest in software systems, digital manufacturing, or industrial technology.
• Familiarity with databases or business applications.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle or system testing concepts.
• Exposure to MES platforms such as PAS-X, Camstar, SAP ME, or similar systems is a plus.

Candidates must:

• Be authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship requirements.
• Remain actively enrolled in their academic program throughout the entire internship period.
• Be available to work 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Should have a minimum GPA of 3
