Responsibilities

  • →Assemble, install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and drainage systems.
  • →Read and interpret blueprints, building plans, and technical drawings to determine installation requirements and work sequences.
  • →Inspect structures to identify obstructions and determine appropriate routing for piping and plumbing systems.
  • →Cut, thread, bend, and join pipes using hand tools, power tools, pipe-threading machines, torches, and related equipment.
  • →Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, water heaters, dishwashers, garbage disposals, and water softeners.
  • →Test plumbing systems for leaks and functionality using water, air, and pressure gauges.
  • →Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plumbing systems, including clearing clogged drains, repairing leaks, and replacing worn components.
  • →Support general facility maintenance activities and perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates must hold a valid Duval County Plumber’s Journeyman License as a required qualification for this position.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial or industrial plumbing maintenance and repair.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency using plumbing hand tools, power tools, and pipe fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose plumbing issues and perform repairs independently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 

 

  • Two years of advanced education, technical training, apprenticeship, or equivalent specialized plumbing training.
  • Experience working in commercial real estate, healthcare, industrial, or large-scale facility environments.
  • Relevant plumbing certifications or trade licenses, where applicable.
  • Basic welding or pipefitting experience.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and work order management systems.
  • Familiarity with building mechanical systems and facility operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple maintenance tasks and prioritize work effectively.
