As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work at the intersection of software engineering, partner delivery, payments, and AI-driven innovation. You will collaborate directly with SaaS partners to design, build, and deploy seamless payment integrations and workflows. The role combines hands-on engineering with customer-facing technical leadership, taking integrations from initial discovery through production deployment. You will leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while creating reusable assets, automation, and best-practice playbooks. Success in this role will be measured through implementation quality, scalability, speed-to-launch, and partner satisfaction. You will also work closely with Sales, Product, Operations, and engineering teams to solve complex integration challenges. This is a fully remote, Canada-based position with travel required for customer engagements and company events.

Lead technical discovery sessions with SaaS partners to understand business requirements, technical environments, integration needs, and implementation objectives.
Design and implement payment integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, tokenization, and related integration technologies.
Develop and maintain custom scripts, lightweight services, automation, and other technical assets supporting partner implementations.
Lead integrations through the full delivery lifecycle, from sandbox environments and technical validation through production deployment.
Work directly within partner development teams when required, providing hands-on engineering support and promoting best-practice integration approaches.
Leverage AI-powered developer tools for code generation, automation, testing, and engineering productivity.
Create reusable AI-enabled delivery playbooks, templates, technical assets, and certification materials to improve consistency and scalability across implementations.
Develop reusable assets such as MCPs, scripts, templates, and automation components that accelerate future partner deployments.
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Operations, and other technical teams to resolve implementation challenges and ensure successful delivery.
Take ownership of implementation outcomes, including time-to-live, technical quality, scalability, delivery efficiency, and partner technical trust.

Requirements

3–6 years of professional experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing APIs, integrations, and technical workflows.
Proficiency in Java, TypeScript, or a comparable programming language.
Customer-facing technical experience, with the ability to communicate effectively with developers, technical stakeholders, and business partners.
Ability to adapt to the partner’s technical environment, communication style, and language requirements rather than relying exclusively on internal standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business and technical requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
Interest in or hands-on experience with AI-augmented software engineering, code generation, automation, or AI developer tools.
Experience with payment technologies, fintech, payment gateways, or Payment Facilitator (PayFac) environments is preferred.
Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, is an asset.
Experience with AI developer tools such as Kiro, Claude, or GitHub Copilot is preferred.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across Sales, Product, Operations, Engineering, and partner teams.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Willingness and ability to travel for customer engagements and company events.
