As an experienced database developer, you will support technology initiatives that are critical to real-time transaction processing within a global financial services environment. You will design, develop, and manage enterprise-scale software solutions using MS SQL and Sybase ASE. The role offers ownership across the full development lifecycle, from solution design and coding through testing, production deployment, and support. You will collaborate with distributed teams on modernizing on-premise applications and enabling cloud-based platforms. Your work will contribute to highly sensitive projects where reliability, performance, and timely delivery are essential. Develop and deliver software projects within a monthly release cycle, working with minimal supervision.
Design and implement large-scale enterprise solutions and application integrations across on-premise environments and cloud-enabled platforms.
Take ownership of solutions throughout the software development lifecycle, from development and testing through production rollout.
Apply appropriate development methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and test-driven development, depending on project requirements.
Design, develop, debug, troubleshoot, and implement practical technical solutions aligned with business requirements.
Perform data analysis, determine field mappings and transformations, and translate business needs into effective software solutions.
Provide release-weekend support and ongoing production support, including issue investigation and triage.
Work across multiple projects and teams while coordinating effectively with stakeholders in different locations.
Contribute to technology, process, and application improvements while adapting to evolving platforms and development practices.
Support initiatives involving enterprise modernization, cloud adoption, and broader technology transformation.

Requirements

10+ years of professional IT development experience with strong expertise in database programming using MS SQL and Sybase ASE.
Strong experience with database performance tuning and advanced optimization techniques.
Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Knowledge of post-trade processing and the trade lifecycle across financial instruments such as fixed income, equities, foreign exchange, derivatives, and financing transactions.
Experience testing software against complex business scenarios and requirements.
Experience providing production support, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing issue triage.
Strong critical-thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to independently analyze data, understand business requirements, and develop practical technical solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and geographic locations.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, processes, and development standards.
Familiarity with Jira and Agile boards is an advantage.
Exposure to Classic ASP, XSLT, and JavaScript is desirable.
Strong ability to work effectively in a collaborative, distributed, and virtual team environment.
