This is a senior engineering role focused on building and operating highly reliable compute and cloud-native systems.
You will work extensively with Go, Kubernetes, containers, Linux, and distributed application environments.
The role combines software development with deep troubleshooting, debugging, performance analysis, and infrastructure expertise.
You will contribute to large codebases, APIs, microservices, testing frameworks, and resource management capabilities.
The position offers exposure to complex technology challenges and high-impact projects in a globally distributed environment.
Strong ownership, technical judgment, collaboration, and problem-solving are essential to succeeding in the role.
The position is fully remote, with working hours aligned to 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Pacific Time.

Design, develop, refactor, and maintain large-scale Go codebases, demonstrating strong knowledge of the language and its internals.
Read and understand extensive existing Go codebases and develop high-quality patches and enhancements.
Build comprehensive automated tests using the Go standard library, Ginkgo, and Gomega, applying Test Driven Development practices where appropriate.
Troubleshoot applications through log analysis, profiling, debugging, and performance investigation.
Design, deploy, scale, and maintain applications running on Kubernetes platforms, with a strong understanding of Kubernetes internals and resource quotas.
Work extensively with container technologies, including Docker, and Linux-based systems, particularly control groups and resource management.
Develop API services and microservices in Go using solid web and HTTP development practices.
Work with PostgreSQL and contribute to database development, monitoring, and performance-related activities.
Use Prometheus and other monitoring and metrics systems to improve system visibility and operational reliability.
Collaborate with distributed engineering teams to solve complex technical problems and deliver reliable technology solutions.

Requirements

14+ years of professional software development experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Deep professional experience with Go, including the ability to understand language internals and work effectively within large codebases.
Proven hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container technologies.
Strong understanding of Linux systems, including control groups and resource-management concepts.
Experience developing APIs and web/HTTP-based microservices in Go.
Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and monitoring technologies such as Prometheus.
Experience with automated testing and familiarity with TDD practices.
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
Familiarity with Java and the ability to read and understand Java code is a plus.
Experience with Python or Java in Kubernetes environments is desirable.
Experience managing monorepos, working with CI tools, or using Bazel as a build system is an advantage.
