Senior Technical Consultant

This role provides expert-level technical and programmatic consulting support for a major defense aviation receiver program. You’ll contribute to complex Studies & Analysis initiatives, acquisition strategy evaluations, and product support business case assessments. The position combines structured analysis, cost-benefit evaluation, risk assessment, and technical consulting to support high-impact government decisions. You’ll examine alternative approaches, assess mission and business implications, and develop clear recommendations for senior stakeholders. The role requires deep experience across Department of Defense acquisition and technical consulting environments, along with strong technical writing and presentation capabilities. This is a fully remote position with occasional travel to government and customer sites.
- Provide expert consulting support across defined programmatic and technical areas, including Studies & Analysis activities.
- Conduct trade studies evaluating acquisition, product support, operational, and technical strategies.
- Perform Product Support Business Case Analysis using structured methodologies to evaluate alternatives and inform program decisions.
- Assess financial and non-financial mission and business impacts associated with potential courses of action.
- Conduct cost-benefit, risk, sensitivity, and decision analyses to identify implications and trade-offs.
- Evaluate acquisition and support approaches related to aviation receivers, GPS/GNSS technologies, open architectures, antennas, resiliency, and sources of supply.
- Analyze complex programmatic and technical issues and develop evidence-based recommendations and courses of action.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, decision-support documents, briefings, and supporting rationale for senior leadership.
- Communicate analytical findings and recommendations clearly to government and program stakeholders.
- Work independently to deliver high-quality analytical products while meeting program objectives and customer requirements.
Requirements

- Active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to maintain the required clearance level.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- 20 years of Department of Defense acquisition or technical consulting experience.
- Strong experience with product support and business case analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of GPS/GNSS programs and related technologies.
- Proven expertise in cost-benefit analysis, decision analysis methodologies, trade studies, and structured analytical approaches.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent technical writing, documentation, briefing, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to independently manage complex assignments and consistently deliver high-quality work products.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with defense acquisition strategies, programmatic analysis, and technical studies is highly relevant.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% based on customer requirements.
