This role owns the customer documentation experience for a sophisticated cybersecurity and AI platform. You will turn complex technical systems, integrations, APIs, and AI-driven workflows into documentation that security practitioners can confidently use. Working closely with product, engineering, customer success, and sales engineering, you will embed yourself in the product development process rather than simply documenting completed features. You will shape the documentation platform, information architecture, authoring standards, and publishing workflows from end to end. Your work will help customers independently configure, administer, investigate, and govern the platform while reducing friction for support teams. This is a high-ownership opportunity within a remote, fast-moving environment where clarity, precision, and execution are highly valued.

Own the customer documentation platform, including information architecture, authoring workflows, review processes, publishing, search, and ongoing maintenance.
Create and maintain integration guides for supported data and alert sources using repeatable structures that enable efficient documentation of new integrations.
Develop comprehensive administration and governance documentation covering tenant management, access controls, API keys, audit trails, and response-action authorization.
Own API reference and developer-facing documentation, collaborating with engineering to generate content from source where appropriate while maintaining high-quality explanatory material where human authorship adds value.
Produce customer-facing release notes that clearly explain changes, their impact, intended users, and known limitations, ensuring documentation is available when releases ship.
Create documentation explaining AI-assisted workflows, including how investigations are structured, how evidence and uncertainty are presented, and what the system can and cannot do.
Partner with customer success and support teams to identify documentation gaps that generate customer questions or support tickets and address those gaps systematically.
Establish and maintain a documentation style guide and docs-as-code workflow that enables engineers and product managers to contribute efficiently.
Work directly with engineers and product managers throughout feature development to extract technical details, clarify requirements, and ensure documentation accurately reflects product behavior.
Continuously evaluate documentation effectiveness, using feedback, support data, and other relevant metrics to prioritize improvements.

5+ years of technical writing experience for software products serving technical buyers, including at least 2 years documenting APIs, integrations, infrastructure, or related technical products.
Strong docs-as-code experience with Git, Markdown, and at least one static documentation framework such as Docusaurus, MkDocs, Mintlify, or an equivalent platform.
Ability to read and understand code and API specifications sufficiently to produce accurate documentation and identify discrepancies between specifications and implementation.
A strong technical writing portfolio demonstrating the ability to explain complex systems clearly and precisely to practitioners working under time constraints.
Excellent interviewing and information-gathering skills, with the persistence to work with engineers and product managers to uncover complete and accurate technical details.
Strong editorial judgment and the ability to determine what information is essential, useful, or unnecessary for the intended audience.
Experience owning documentation systems end to end, including information architecture, content strategy, publishing, and long-term maintenance.
Preference for focused ownership and close collaboration within a small, accountable product team.
Ability to thrive in an early-stage startup environment characterized by ambiguity, rapid execution, and changing priorities.
Strong data-driven mindset with an interest in using metrics and customer feedback to improve documentation effectiveness.
Cybersecurity or security operations experience is preferred, particularly familiarity with SIEM, EDR, identity, or cloud security data sources.
Experience documenting AI or machine learning products, including model behavior, evidence, limitations, or other complex AI concepts, is a plus.
Experience as the first or only documentation hire at a Series A–C company is preferred.
Experience using documentation analytics and support-ticket data to prioritize content improvements is a plus.
Familiarity with structured authoring or content reuse systems is beneficial.
