This executive role leads strategic engagement and account management across major U.S. payer customers.
You will shape enterprise-wide payer strategies that connect portfolio priorities, market access objectives, customer needs, and sustainable business outcomes.
The role combines senior customer leadership, complex negotiations, contracting oversight, and strategic market insight.
You will serve as a key voice of the payer internally, translating customer, reimbursement, competitive, and policy intelligence into actionable recommendations.
Working across market access, commercial, finance, medical, legal, policy, and patient services teams, you will turn strategy into coordinated account execution.
You will also lead and develop a high-performing organization capable of navigating an increasingly complex and consolidated payer landscape.
This is a highly visible opportunity for an experienced healthcare leader to influence access, portfolio performance, and long-term customer relationships at scale.

  • Set the strategic direction for payer account management, aligning customer engagement with portfolio priorities, brand access objectives, and broader U.S. business goals.

  • Lead integrated account strategies across national, regional, and government payer segments, establishing clear objectives, priorities, negotiation strategies, and measures of success.

  • Build trusted senior-level relationships with payer executives and decision-makers, personally engaging in the most strategically important customer situations and negotiations.

  • Translate access strategies into customer-specific contracting and execution plans while ensuring decisions remain within established financial, governance, and compliance frameworks.

  • Lead or oversee complex payer negotiations, evaluating competitive dynamics, access value, financial implications, gross-to-net considerations, and portfolio-level tradeoffs.

  • Partner with market access and commercial leaders to develop differentiated strategies across products, therapeutic areas, launches, and lifecycle stages.

  • Establish the payer account organization as a source of actionable customer intelligence, identifying changes in formulary strategy, benefit design, utilization management, payer consolidation, and emerging access models.

  • Monitor account performance, access outcomes, contracting effectiveness, opportunities, and risks, providing senior leadership with clear recommendations and intervention priorities.

  • Ensure payer teams are prepared for upcoming product launches and evolving lifecycle needs by incorporating customer insights, access barriers, and engagement priorities into planning.

  • Build effective cross-functional ways of working across market access, finance, legal, medical, policy, patient services, commercial, and other enterprise functions.

  • Lead, coach, and develop senior account management professionals, strengthening capabilities in strategic account management, negotiation, payer economics, financial acumen, and executive engagement.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, curiosity, continuous improvement, and responsible decision-making.
