Licensed Pest Control Technician

We are seeking an experienced Pest Control Technician to support a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment throughout our senior living community. This position is responsible for inspecting, identifying, monitoring, and addressing pest-related concerns while serving as an in-house resource for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) activities.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on pest management experience with strong customer service, organization, and attention to detail. This role works collaboratively with Maintenance, Housekeeping, Dining Services, Healthcare, Infection Prevention, leadership, and outside vendors to support effective pest prevention and control throughout the community.

• Conduct routine inspections of residential apartments, healthcare areas, common spaces, dining venues, storage facilities, mechanical spaces, exterior grounds, and other areas for signs of pest activity.
• Identify and address minor infestations involving insects, rodents, birds, and other pests using approved pest management methods within the scope of applicable licensing requirements.
• Apply Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices focused on prevention, monitoring, sanitation, exclusion, and targeted treatment.
• Conduct follow-up inspections to evaluate treatment effectiveness and help prevent recurring pest activity.
• Monitor pest-related trends and work with outside vendors and internal teams to develop proactive prevention strategies.
• Recommend structural repairs, sanitation improvements, exclusion measures, and other actions that may help prevent infestations.
• Monitor exterior grounds, landscaping, waste areas, and drainage conditions that may contribute to pest activity.

• Serve as a campus resource for pest management activities.
• Coordinate daily pest control schedules, work assignments, inspections, contractor activities, and treatments.
• Support consistent implementation of the organization's Integrated Pest Management program.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to management regarding pest prevention and control.
• Conduct quality control and assurance inspections and communicate findings and recommended actions to management.
• Coordinate and oversee contracted pest control vendors and specialized service providers.
• Monitor vendor performance to help ensure contracted services meet organizational standards.
• Maintain and track inventory and assist with the procurement of pest control supplies and equipment.
• Assist management with pest control budget planning and anticipated expenditures.
• Recommend process improvements, best practices, and standard operating procedures to strengthen pest prevention efforts.

• Respond promptly and professionally to pest-related concerns and service requests from residents and employees.
• Educate residents and employees on pest prevention practices and sanitation recommendations.
• Clearly communicate treatment schedules, safety precautions, and post-treatment instructions.
• Build positive relationships with residents while demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity to the needs of older adults.
