Join Keystone Solutions as a consultant for a mission with our client, serving as a Data Governance Expert/Data Compliance Officer within their Data & Analytics team. In this consultancy role, you will establish and evolve the client's data governance and data compliance frameworks, guide implementation, ensure compliance, and foster data literacy across the organization. You will support and further strengthen data governance and data compliance management activities for the client, including providing support to the RFP process for the selection of a data governance tool for data compliance. You will work closely with the client's CISO and DPO. All responsibilities and requirements below will be performed as a Keystone Solutions consultant embedded with the client.

As a Data Governance Expert/Data Compliance Officer consultant, you will apply your data governance, data protection, and regulatory expertise across complex stakeholder landscapes. You will translate governance frameworks into operational reality, support change management, and elevate data literacy while ensuring compliance with internal and sector-specific regulations.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Framework Development: Design, implement, and continuously improve the client's data governance framework (covering target operating model, roles and responsibilities, data governance bodies, business glossary, data catalogue, data quality, regulatory compliance).
- →Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business and IT teams to align governance processes with strategic objectives and business needs. Coordinate with security, risk, legal, IT, and data governance to support regulatory compliance.
- →Change Management: Act as a change agent for framework roll-out, providing tailored support, training, and coaching to embed new data roles (e.g., towards Data Owner, Data Steward).
- →Process Management: Develop and monitor governance processes, analyze non-compliance, and implement corrective actions.
- →Operational Oversight: Ensure quality and timely execution of governance tasks (e.g., documenting business terms, classifying data, defining data quality rules).
- →Monitoring & Reporting: Track governance indicators and data quality, ensure compliance with internal data governance policies (metadata, classification, retention, quality, lineage), ensure adherence to sector-specific regulations, report issues and propose improvements.
- →Community Leadership: Lead and participate in internal and external data governance communities.
- →Consultancy Delivery: Provide support to the client's RFP process for the selection of a data governance tool for data compliance, and work closely with the client's CISO and DPO to ensure alignment and effective execution.
- You have a data-driven mindset, and have proven experience in a large company in data governance in all the following domains:
- Data Roles & Governing bodies
- Data Quality
- Data Protection & Regulatory Compliance (GDPR, data retention, access control, privacy-by-design)
- Data Lineage
- Business Glossary
- Metadata Management
- You communicate fluently in Dutch, French and English (spoken and written):
- Dutch or French as a mother tongue or at least C level, the other language at least B2 level.
- For English at least level B2.
- You can physically come to the client's offices in Brussels a minimum of 2 days a week.
- You have a master's degree or equivalent by relevant experience in the above-mentioned domains.
- You have strong coordination and facilitating skills and can rely on previous experience as project manager and/or program manager (you have good interpersonal skills and can act as an integrator between Business and IT).
- You have strong analytical skills; able to simplify complex regulatory and technical topics for non-technical audiences.
- You have demonstrated, hands-on experience in data protection, GDPR compliance, regulatory risk management, and privacy-related governance controls.
- Experience with industry-leading data management and data governance tools is a strong plus.
- DMBOK, CIGO, AAIM or equivalent certification is a strong plus.
- Privacy/regulatory certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in Python and/or SQL is a plus.
This consultancy mission is primarily on-site at the client's offices in Brussels for at least two days per week, with close collaboration alongside the client's CISO, DPO, and cross-functional business and IT stakeholders.
