About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of our agency. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, managing the accounting team, and providing timely and insightful financial reporting to leadership. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a passion for contributing to the success of a digital ad agency.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the general ledger, ensuring proper coding and classification of transactions.

• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage the annual budget, prepare financial forecasts, and monitor performance against budget.

• Cash Management: Manage cash flow, including bank reconciliations, and ensure adequate funding for operations.

• Month-End & Year-End Close: Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

• Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Team Management: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support.

• Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements.

• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.4

• Client Profitability Analysis: Analyze client profitability and provide insights to management.

• Project Costing: Oversee project costing and provide analysis on project profitability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA designation is a plus.

• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an advertising agency or related industry.

• Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.

• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Strong communication,  interpersonal, and leadership skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Detail-oriented and highly organized.7

• Experience with project costing and client profitability analysis is preferred.
