Responsibilities
~1 min read- Manage daily operations of customer-facing CDI projects across inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
- Ensure high-quality execution of all clinical deliverables, including CDI assessments, medical record reviews, and provider education initiatives.
- Develop and implement CDI policies, procedures, and workflows aligned with best practices.
- Serve as a clinical subject matter expert in documentation integrity, coding compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Advise client leadership and provider teams on best practices for CDI, medical necessity, and accurate coding.
- Promote a culture of clinical excellence, integrity, and client success.
- Develop and deliver educational programs for providers, clinical staff, and coding teams to improve documentation quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with Kodiak and client teams to design and implement project plans, governance frameworks, and change management strategies.
- Facilitate project meetings and ensure timely follow-up on action items to maintain momentum and accountability.
- Monitor project scope and identify opportunities for contract amendments, supporting their development and execution.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal and external stakeholders on CDI engagements.
- Establish and monitor CDI performance metrics including query volume, query quality, response rates, CC/MCC capture, SOI/ROM, DRG distribution, and quality impacts.
- Analyze CDI data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present reports to internal and external executive leadership.
- Participate in benefit tracking and ROI analysis related to CDI and revenue integrity initiatives.
Requirements
~1 min read- Education: A bachelor’s degree in business or a health-related field is required (an MBA, MHA, and/or MPH is highly desirable).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of CDI experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Consulting Expertise: Previous experience in a professional services or consulting role is essential, demonstrating a proven track record in delivering client-focused solutions.
- Technical Proficiency & Certification:
- Registered Nurse (RN), RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, CCDS, CDIP, CPC or equivalent clinical/coding credential required.
- Strong working knowledge of CMS guidelines, documentation requirements, and coding standards including:
- ICD-10-CM/PCS coding concepts
- MS-DRG methodology
- SOI/ROM, quality measure, and risk adjustment
- Leadership & Project Management: Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analytical & Financial Skills:
- Must have extreme attention to detail and ability to work independently with a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, with experience in benefit tracking and ROI analysis.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and influence clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 25% to client sites, as needed.
