We are looking for a Manager to join our Accounting Advisory team. You will help clients – primarily in the Financial Services sector – understand and address complex accounting and financial reporting issues, implement new standards and enhance their finance and reporting processes, combining strong technical knowledge with practical, hands-on support.

You will coordinate and deliver a diverse range of accounting advisory projects, acting as a trusted advisor to finance, risk and reporting teams in financial institutions and other companies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead accounting advisory engagements: Coordinate end-to-end delivery of advisory projects, from scoping and planning through analysis, solution design, implementation support and reporting.
  • Technical accounting & IFRS advice: Provide in-depth technical advice on complex IFRS and financial reporting issues, including those arising from new or revised standards and from specific transactions (e.g. business combinations).
  • Implementation of new standards & reporting requirements: Support clients in understanding new accounting and reporting requirements, assessing their impact and designing practical approaches for implementation.
  • Corporate accounting standards & methodologies: Contribute to the development of corporate accounting policies, methodologies and accounting manuals, ensuring consistency, compliance and usability for finance teams.
  • Methodological support for ERP implementations: Work with client finance and IT teams to provide methodological support during ERP and finance systems implementations, ensuring that accounting treatments and reporting requirements are correctly embedded.
  • Support for mergers and corporate projects: Provide technical accounting input and methodological support for merger projects and other corporate transactions, including structuring, accounting impact assessment and documentation.
  • Quality, risk & compliance: Ensure that advice and deliverables comply with IFRS, relevant local regulations and KPMG risk management policies, with robust documentation of conclusions.
  • Client communication & stakeholder management: Act as a primary contact for client stakeholders, manage expectations, provide clear status updates and present solution options and recommendations in an accessible way.
  • Coaching & mentoring: Act as a coach and mentor for more junior professionals in the team, providing guidance, feedback and on-the-job training in technical accounting and advisory skills.
  • Business development: Contribute to business development activities, including drafting proposals, preparing and delivering client presentations, and identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with colleagues from Audit, Tax, Deal Advisory and other service lines to deliver integrated solutions to clients and share knowledge across teams.
  • Thought leadership & knowledge sharing: Support the development of internal and external materials (methodologies, insights, client alerts) on emerging accounting and reporting topics, particularly in the Financial Services sector.

You are an experienced accounting and financial reporting professional with strong IFRS expertise, ideally within the Financial Services sector, who enjoys helping clients solve complex issues and improve their finance and reporting processes.

  • Typically minimum 5 years of experience in accounting advisory, financial reporting or financial auditing, preferably in the Financial Services sector (e.g. banking, insurance, asset management).
  • Strong technical IFRS knowledge, including experience with application to complex transactions or new standards.
  • Proven experience in at least some of the following:
    • Implementation of new accounting and reporting requirements.
    • Development or review of accounting policies, methodologies and accounting manuals.
    • Providing methodological support in ERP / finance systems implementations.
    • Supporting merger or business combination projects with technical accounting analysis.
  • ACCA qualification finalized or in progress (or equivalent professional qualification would be a plus).
  • Previous experience in a professional services firm (e.g. Big 4) is an advantage.
  • Strong practical experience with IFRS and financial reporting frameworks relevant to Financial Services.
  • Familiarity with ERP / finance systems and how accounting and reporting requirements are implemented in practice.
  • Very good command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, for analysis, documentation and presentations.
  • Solid understanding of finance processes and internal controls within financial institutions.
  • Ability to communicate accurately and efficiently in English – advanced level, both written and spoken.
  • Able to explain complex accounting concepts and IFRS requirements in clear, non-technical language to business and finance stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation skills, comfortable delivering client workshops and presentations.

Nice to Have
