About the Role

This is a key leadership role within our production operation, where you'll act as the lead Maintenance Engineer for your production line and play a critical part in driving performance, reliability and continuous improvement. Working as part of a close-knit line leadership team, you'll take ownership of maintenance planning, scheduling and execution, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently to support operational performance.

You'll lead preventative and corrective maintenance activities, develop and deliver maintenance plans, and use data and root cause analysis to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability. You'll also coach and support colleagues, champion engineering standards and work closely with Production, Technical and Engineering teams to achieve shared goals.

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with excellent planning and leadership skills, and who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC or equivalent qualification in an electrical, electro-mechanical or mechanical engineering discipline, alongside an 18th Edition qualification.

Proven maintenance and fault-finding experience
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills gained within a manufacturing or FMCG environment

Knowledge of automation and continuous improvement
Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and Lean manufacturing tools and techniques

A strong focus on safety and compliance
Knowledge of COSHH requirements and safe systems of work, with a commitment to maintaining high standards

Leadership and coaching capability
The ability to influence, develop and support others while taking ownership of performance and results
