The Accountant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the Singapore business, including maintaining the local accounts, processing payments, performing reconciliations, supporting month-end closing, and ensuring timely statutory and management reporting. The role will work closely with the local Finance team and HQ to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with Singapore accounting and GST requirements.
Manage day-to-day accounting and finance operations
Maintain a complete and accurate set of accounting records for the Singapore entity
Perform bank, balance sheet and other relevant reconciliations
Manage the weekly payment cycle, including staff claims, driver cash-outs and supplier invoices
Support month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries and preparation of schedules
Liaise with HQ on accounting matters and resolve finance-related queries
Ensure the timely and accurate submission of daily, weekly and monthly reports to management and HQ
Prepare and support the submission of Singapore GST returns
Support statutory audits and prepare the necessary audit schedules and documentation
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements and internal finance policies
Perform other duties as assigned
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
Hands-on, detail-oriented and able to work under tight deadlines
Responsive and able to manage multiple priorities
Comfortable working in a multicultural environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Diploma, Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline,
At least 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience
Familiarity with Singapore GST requirements, accounting standards and local statutory requirements
Experience supporting or handling a full set of accounts will be an advantage
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience using Oracle is preferred
Experience in a start-up, e-commerce or platform-based business will be an advantage
