Position Summary:

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring materials are accurately received, inspected, stored, and distributed. This role supports warehouse operations by maintaining accurate inventory records, preparing shipments, and coordinating with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of goods.

Receive incoming shipments, inspect materials for damage or discrepancies, and verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips.

Accurately record and enter received goods into the inventory or ERP system.

Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to company and carrier requirements.

Coordinate pickups and deliveries with freight carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and LTL trucking companies.

Maintain organized warehouse storage areas to ensure materials are easy to locate and properly stored.

Generate shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels.

Assist with inventory control activities including cycle counts and stock reconciliation.

Communicate with purchasing, production, and customer service teams regarding shipment status and inventory availability.

Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed.

Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
