Patient Access Representative

• The Patient Access Representative will be responsible for pulling medical records from various EMR systems, scanning medical records into a link batch and linking medical records to patient accounts. Providing outside medical records requests. Transportation and transfer of inpatients and outpatients as needed.

• →Contributes to the overall performance in the Medical Records department through specific tasks as assigned by Practice Director, based on business needs, including but not limited to:

• Pulling medical records from various EMR systems

• Scanning medical records into a link batch

• Linking medical records to patient accounts

• Updating patient insurance information

• Working cross-functionally to identify the root causes of problems

• Responding professionally to emails from management regarding medical record issues

• Communicating identified issues with internal employees

• Patient registration

• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments

• Transporting Patients

• Transfer of patients from bed or wheelchair to MR safe equipment

• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
• Requires emotional stability and resilience.
• Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.

• The physical demands differ according to job responsibilities. Required to stay in a stationary positions as well as ability to move around. The ability to position one’s self and/or move equipment is normally required.
• Sitting (65%) Pushing (10%) & Standing (25%)
• Must be able to walk, stoop and bend.
• Typing utilizing keyboard on computer.
