IT Infrastructure Engineer – Manufacturing

This is more than a traditional IT support role. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will help own the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the local IT infrastructure that supports both our business and manufacturing operations.

You will also act as an on-site technical partner for global teams that may not have a local presence, helping translate global technical requirements into successful local implementations, ensuring technology solutions are implemented reliably, securely, and with minimal impact to production.

This role combines infrastructure engineering, networking, manufacturing IT support, technical implementation, and global collaboration in a highly connected production environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Own, monitor, maintain, and support the site's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and connected devices, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance across business and manufacturing environments.

• Manage the full hardware lifecycle across the site, from installation and maintenance through decommissioning, while keeping asset inventories and configuration records accurate and current.

• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure, including Arista, Cisco, and Fortinet networking equipment, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.

• Collaborate with global network and infrastructure teams on technical changes, upgrades, implementations, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Manage vendor and third-party network connectivity, including secure access for external partners and suppliers, while maintaining appropriate security, reliability, and operational standards.

• Support IT infrastructure and connected devices across manufacturing environments, including ruggedized endpoints, thin clients, barcode scanners, label printers, smartphones, industrial workstations, and other production-related technology.

• Collaborate with OT and automation teams to support secure, stable, and reliable integration between Information Technology and Operational Technology environments.

• Respond to production-impacting IT incidents with a strong ownership mindset, prioritizing the safe and timely restoration of manufacturing operations.

• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate repetitive technical activities, helping improve efficiency, reliability, and overall operational performance.

• Contribute to technical documentation, peer coaching, knowledge sharing, and collaborative review, helping strengthen capability across the wider engineering community.

Do you have what it takes?

• Proven experience in IT infrastructure engineering, ideally within a manufacturing, industrial, production, or similarly complex operational environment.

• Hands-on experience working with networking equipment such as Arista, Cisco, or Fortinet, as well as server hardware, storage systems, and data center infrastructure such as Dell, HPE, or comparable technologies.

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, switching, routing, LAN/WAN environments, and wireless infrastructure.

• Experience troubleshooting infrastructure issues and identifying root causes across servers, networks, devices, and interconnected systems.

• Familiarity with IT/OT environments, industrial systems, manufacturing technology, or production-floor IT support is a strong advantage.

• Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including endpoint protection and identity management.

• Experience with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies is a plus
