PAY RANGE: $25.38 - $38.07 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, with starting wage not typically above the mid-point of the range ($31.73/hour).

What This Job Does
You help the City Recorder with important office and record‑keeping tasks. You may also fill in when the City Recorder is gone.
Main Responsibilities
- Help prepare agendas and information packets for City meetings.
- Attend assigned public meetings and take meeting minutes.
- File, scan, organize, and maintain official records.
- Prepare and post public notices.
- Serve as a Notary Public and verify signatures on official documents.
- Help process public records requests.
- Assist with city elections tasks.
- Provide basic support for Granicus (agenda software) and the City Hall audio/video system.
- Do other similar office tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Associate degree in business, communications, or a related field,
AND
- 2 years of similar work experience,
OR
- A mix of education and experience that gives you the needed skills.
Skills Needed:
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to learn and follow state and local record‑keeping laws
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to write clearly
- Able to understand and interpret city laws and procedures
- Good judgment, confidentiality, and attention to detail
- Able to work well with the public and coworkers
- Comfortable using computers and office equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Other Requirements
- May need to become a Certified Municipal Clerk
- Must be or become a Notary Public
Work Environment
Work is done in a normal office setting. Tasks include sitting, standing, walking, talking, listening, and using your hands for typing or filing. Occasional local travel may be needed.
