Heavy Equipment Operator

• Safe operation of mobile equipment

• Abide by all company policies and procedures

• Abide by all State and Federal laws

• Perform pre-shift inspection on equipment prior to operation

• Fuel equipment as needed and properly log all fuel required

• Report or fix all items found during pre-shift inspection

• Perform preventive maintenance on truck when needed, with preventive maintenance being:

• Change oil and check fluids

  • Lubricate

  • Change filters

  • Tire maintenance

• Safe operation of the crushing/screening/conveying system

• Perform routine maintenance both preventive and corrective on quarry equipment

• Maintain housekeeping to support crushing system such as:

  • Painting and shoveling of catwalks/handrails

  • Replacing idlers

  • Tracking belts

  • Splicing belts

  • Changing out Screen

• Follow directions and dump mined ore in designated location as directed

• Gathering of drill shaving samples, rail car samples, and other belt samples from the crushing system.

• Attend scheduled safety meetings

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

• Complete Pre-shift inspections on any assigned Heavy Equipment and submit to Plant Operator

• Promote safety among co-workers

• Follow all safety policies and procedures

• Fulfill all requirements and possess ability to pass back ground check for ATF Explosives license.

• Self-motivated and must be able to work independently

• Detailed knowledge and understanding of over the road heavy equipment  operation and safety requirements

• Must be capable of working shift work, overtime, seven days, or holidays, if needed including nights.

• Ability to occasionally lift/carry 45 pounds.  

• Demonstrated skills heavy equipment operation a plus, but minimum as demonstrated for an over the road haul truck

• History of safe operation of vehicle as demonstrated on driving record

• Must be capable of working shift work, overtime, seven days, or holidays, if needed including nights.

• Ability to occasionally lift/carry 45 pounds.

• History of safe operation of vehicle as demonstrated on driving record

• Working at heights and along high wall

REQUIRED EDUCATION:   High school diploma or GED equivalent

PREFFERED EDUCATION:   Bachelor’s Degree, CDL

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:   Minimum of 1 year experience industrial experience

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:   3 years heavy equipment
