To provide best support, the successful candidate will have experience in active support and behaviour support and be comfortable in managing behaviours of concern when required. You will engage with the people we support to promote choice, encourage participation in activities, and make each day enjoyable and meaningful.
Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team on a permanent part time basis, you will support people with disability to live their best lives in shared housing, providing various supports including personal care and daily living. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
The successful candidates must be able to commit to the set roster line below:
- 38.5 hours per fortnight:
- Week 1: Mon 6:00am – 2:00pm, Wed 6:00 – 10:00am, Thurs 3:00 – 11:30pm, Sat 10:00am – 2:00pm
- Week 2: Mon 9:00am – 3:00pm, Wed 6:00 – 10:00am, Sat 10:00am – 2:00pm
Responsibilities

- →Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
- →Maintain thorough record keeping
- →Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
- →Advocate for client choice and control
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience working with people with intellectual disability and mental health
- Previous experience working with behaviour support plans
- An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
- Comfortable to drive a large van to support community access
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
