About the Role

Based in Chifley you will support 4 people with disability who enjoy getting out and about, going for walks and riding public transport as well as arts and crafts in their spare time. To provide best support, the successful candidate will have previous experience working with people with disability or mental health conditions and be confident manual handling. 

Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team on a permanent part time basis, you will support people with disability to live their best lives in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster, availability to work sleepover shifts is essential.

The successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the set roster lines below:

  • 42.5 hours per fortnight:
    • Week 1: Mon 2:30 – 8pm, Tues 4pm – 9:30am (sleepover), Thurs 6 – 9:30am, Fri 3 – 8pm, Sun 6:30am – 1pm
    • Week 2: Tues 2:30 – 7pm, Wed 2:30 – 7pm, Thurs 6 – 9:30am
  • 38 hours per fortnight:
    • Week 1: Mon 4pm – 9:30am (sleepover), Wed 2:30 – 7pm, Thurs 2:30 – 7pm
    • Weed 2: Wed 6 – 9:30am, Thurs 4pm – 9:30am (sleepover), Sun 6:30am – 1pm

Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control
  • Confident in driving a large van to transport clients

Requirements

  • Experience working with people with disability or mental health conditions
  • Previous experience working with behaviour support plans
  • Confidence in manual handling
  • An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
