We're looking for an experienced and passionate House Manager to lead one of our Residential Care homes in Deception Bay

This is an opportunity to lead a dedicated team supporting children and young people with high and complex needs. You'll create a safe, stable and therapeutic home environment where young people can heal, build resilience and develop the skills they need to thrive.

Working within Life Without Barriers' therapeutic CARE framework, you'll mentor and coach your team to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care while ensuring the home operates safely, effectively and in line with best practice.

This is a permanent full-time leadership position. Flexibility is required, including occasional shift coverage to support operational needs.

Responsibilities

As House Manager, you'll:

  • Lead, mentor and support a team of Residential Youth Workers
  • Foster a safe, nurturing and therapeutic home environment
  • Drive the implementation of the CARE model and trauma-informed practice
  • Coordinate case planning and contribute to positive outcomes for children and young people
  • Support staff in applying Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) strategies
  • Manage rosters, staffing and day-to-day operational requirements
  • Oversee the intake, transition and exit of young people from the service
  • Build strong relationships with families, Child Safety, community organisations and cultural supports
  • Ensure compliance, quality documentation and accurate client records

You are an experienced leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.

You'll bring:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or equivalent) (essential)
  • A degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline (highly regarded)
  • Experience leading teams within residential care, child protection or community services
  • Demonstrated experience supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma
  • Strong leadership, coaching and reflective supervision skills
  • Experience managing complex situations, critical incidents and competing priorities
  • Excellent communication, organisational and documentation skills
  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Willingness to complete the Hope and Healing Framework Foundations training prior to commencement
