As a Social Worker within Swindon Borough Council’s Child Protection Team, you will work with children, young people and their families where there are concerns about safeguarding and child protection. You will assess children’s needs and risks, develop and implement effective child protection plans, and work closely with families and partner agencies to promote children’s safety, wellbeing and development.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • →Undertake assessments of children and families and identify safeguarding risks and needs.
  • →Manage a caseload of children subject to child protection plans and care proceedings where required.
  • →Develop and review plans to ensure children are safe and their needs are being met.
  • →Build positive, professional relationships with children, parents and carers.
  • →Work collaboratively with schools, health services, police and other partner agencies.
  • →Maintain accurate records and produce clear, evidence-based reports.
  • →Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, reviews and professional meetings.
  • →Promote children’s voices, rights and best interests in all decision-making.
  • →Work in accordance with relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures and Social Work England standards.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Post-qualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
