Social Worker - Children's Services Duty Team

Liquid Personnel is recruiting Social Worker for its client's Children's Services Duty Team at Rotherham.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Duty Social Worker to join a busy Children's Services Duty Team based in Rotherham. This role has become available to provide cover for a maternity-related absence within the team.

The successful candidate will work within a fast-paced duty service, managing referrals and assessments, safeguarding children, and ensuring cases are progressed within required timescales.

Duration: Initial 3-month assignment with a strong likelihood of extension until approximately March 2027, subject to service needs and maternity leave arrangements.
Start Date: ASAP, depending on notice arrangements relating to the current post holder.

• →Manage a caseload of approximately 20-22 children at any one time.
• →Undertake assessments and interventions within statutory timescales.
• →Progress cases efficiently, with the expectation that most cases are transferred or closed within approximately 45 days.
• →Work collaboratively with partner agencies and internal teams to safeguard children and support positive outcomes.
• →Maintain accurate and timely case recordings and reports.
• →Participate fully in the team's duty rota and respond effectively to incoming work pressures.

• →Fully office-based, Monday to Friday.

• →Hybrid working arrangement:
• →3 days office-based
• →2 days working from home

• →Free parking is available at Riverside during duty weeks.
• →Alternative parking facilities are available nearby during non-duty weeks, although parking charges may apply.
• →The service is seeking a high-performing practitioner with a proven track record of delivering quality outcomes for children and families

To be successful in this role you must have, 

• Be a qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Have recent experience working within Children's Services Duty, Assessment, or Front Door teams.
• Demonstrate strong safeguarding knowledge and decision-making skills.
• Be able to manage a busy and demanding caseload effectively.
• Work confidently in a fast-paced environment and meet strict service timescales.
• Have excellent assessment, communication, and relationship-building skills.
