Liquid Personnel is recruiting experienced Advanced Practitioners to join its client’s Pre-Birth Team based in Middlesbrough. These are full-time agency roles offering a competitive rate of pay, providing an opportunity to work within a specialist service focused on safeguarding unborn babies and supporting families during pregnancy to achieve the best possible outcomes for children.

About the Role

As an Advanced Practitioner within the Pre-Birth Team, you will play a vital leadership role in safeguarding unborn children and supporting families through assessment, planning, and intervention during pregnancy. You will manage complex cases, provide expert practice guidance to colleagues, and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to reduce risk and improve outcomes for children before birth.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a complex caseload involving pre-birth assessments, safeguarding concerns, and child protection planning.
  • Undertaking comprehensive assessments and developing robust plans to safeguard unborn babies and support families.
  • Providing practice leadership, mentoring, and support to less experienced social workers.
  • Working closely with midwives, health professionals, and partner agencies to assess risk and coordinate interventions.
  • Participating in strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and legal planning meetings.
  • Preparing high-quality assessments, reports, and court documentation where required.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory guidance and professional standards.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • A degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Social Care.
  • Strong experience in safeguarding, child protection, and court work.
  • Experience managing complex cases and supporting the development of other practitioners.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills.
