Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Family Court Adviser for our client's service based in Hertfordshire. This is a full-time agency role offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring children's welfare remains at the heart of family court proceedings.

The Family Court Adviser role provides advanced social work support to children, families, and courts within family proceedings, ensuring the child's welfare and safeguarding remain central to all decision-making. The role involves assessing risk, analysing complex cases, advising courts on child protection and welfare concerns, and working directly with children and families to achieve positive outcomes.

What will your responsibilities be?
  • Conduct safeguarding checks and risk assessments within family court proceedings.
  • Gather, analyse, and evaluate complex information relating to child welfare and protection concerns.
  • Prepare high-quality court reports, statements, and recommendations.
  • Represent and advocate for the child's wishes, feelings, and best interests.
  • Undertake direct work with children, young people, and families.
  • Provide expert advice to courts on safeguarding and welfare matters.
  • Manage a varied caseload across Public Law and Private Law proceedings.
  • Work effectively with local authorities, legal representatives, schools, healthcare professionals, and partner agencies.
  • Support the delivery of the Child Focused Court Model (CFC), ensuring children's voices remain central throughout proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate case records and utilise case management systems effectively.

Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification.
  • A minimum of three years' post-qualifying experience working with children and families is essential.
  • Experience in safeguarding, child protection, and preparing reports for court proceedings is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in assessment, communication, negotiation, case management, and IT systems are required.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage sensitive, complex, and high-conflict situations in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to work independently while collaborating effectively with multi-agency partners.
  • Flexible hybrid working available, with 1 day per week in the office.
  • Candidates will also be required to attend court hearings, undertake family visits, and travel as required to fulfil their duties.
