Liquid Personnel is recruiting Senior Social Worker for its client's Adults Team in East Sussex.

As a Senior Practitioner, you will hold responsibility for a complex caseload while providing specialist expertise and guidance to colleagues across the team. You will support high standards of practice, promote strengths-based and person-centred approaches, and contribute to the ongoing development of services.

Working closely with partners across health, housing, voluntary sector organisations, and other agencies, you will ensure adults receive coordinated and effective support that promotes independence, wellbeing, and safety. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex caseload involving adults with significant care and support needs.
  • Undertake complex assessments, risk assessments, reviews, and support planning.
  • Lead and support safeguarding enquiries and interventions.
  • Commission and review care and support services to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Provide professional guidance, consultation, and casework support to Social Workers and other team members.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the development of practitioners, students, and newly qualified staff.
  • Assist managers in identifying training and development needs across the team.
  • Work collaboratively with health colleagues and partner agencies to deliver integrated services.
  • Support effective case management, ensuring high-quality and timely interventions.
  • Maintain excellent standards of recording, report writing, and assessment documentation.
  • Prepare reports and provide evidence in court where required.
  • Take a lead role in implementing service improvements, policy developments, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Support quality assurance, auditing, and performance improvement activities.
  • Promote reflective practice and a positive learning culture within the team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you must have, 

  • Advanced social work knowledge and professional judgement.
  • Confidence in managing risk and complex decision-making.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with adults, carers, families, and partner agencies.
  • A commitment to promoting safeguarding, inclusion, equality, and social justice.
  • Resilience, leadership qualities, and the ability to support a positive team culture.
  • A passion for developing others and improving service delivery

We are looking for a confident and experienced practitioner who can lead by example and support others to deliver excellent social work practice.

You will have:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience within Adult Social Care.
  • Experience managing complex cases and safeguarding interventions.
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Human Rights legislation, and adult safeguarding frameworks.
  • Experience of supervising, mentoring, or supporting the development of other practitioners.
  • Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong report-writing and communication abilities.
  • Experience of multi-agency partnership working and collaborative practice.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
  • A commitment to strengths-based, person-centred practice and continuous professional development.
