Social Worker – Adult Safeguarding

Our client based in Derbyshire is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Adult Social Worker to join their dedicated Adult Safeguarding Team. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role requiring a confident practitioner with strong risk management capabilities, sound legal knowledge, and experience working with complex safeguarding concerns.

The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting vulnerable adults, leading safeguarding enquiries, and working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure effective outcomes. This opportunity is ideal for a Social Worker who thrives in investigative environments and is confident in making defensible decisions under pressure.

• →Leading and coordinating Section 42 safeguarding enquiries, ensuring timely and proportionate responses to concerns of abuse or neglect.
• →Undertaking risk assessments and safeguarding investigations, gathering evidence and making informed decisions to reduce risk and promote safety.
• →Applying relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005, ensuring all interventions are lawful and proportionate.
• →Completing MCA assessments and Best Interest decisions where required, particularly within complex safeguarding contexts.
• →Working closely with multi-agency partners including police, health professionals, care providers, and legal teams to deliver coordinated safeguarding responses.
• →Preparing clear, analytical reports and presenting findings at strategy meetings, case conferences, and multi-agency forums.
• →Working with adults who have a range of needs, including Mental Health, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and older people at risk of harm.
• →Promoting Making Safeguarding Personal principles, ensuring individuals are at the centre of all safeguarding interventions.

• Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW.
• Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years post-qualified experience, including significant safeguarding experience.
• Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, safeguarding frameworks, and risk management processes.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive situations.
• Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence and access to a car typically required for visits across the locality.
