Position Overview
The Head of Growth drives sustainable growth across membership, CPD/education, events, publications, sponsorships, advertising, and digital products for a legal membership association. The role is responsible for growing member value, revenue, reach, and engagement across all practitioner segments, while ensuring strategic alignment with the legal sector’s expectations of professionalism, accuracy, and ethics.
The position leads cross‑functional initiatives spanning marketing, digital, product, analytics, partnerships, and commercial development, with a strong focus on scalable, data‑driven growth systems.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and lead the organisation’s growth strategy across membership, CPD, commercial products, digital channels, and partnerships.
- Define clear value propositions and offers for each practitioner segment (students, early-career, private practice, in‑house, government, CLC, sole practitioners, regional).
- Design targeted campaigns for priority segments including students, new lawyers, mid career lawyers, senior practitioners, and firms or industry segments such as government, corporates and academia.
- Partner with Member Services to build high‑retention pathways and reduce churn through data‑led insight.
- Drive growth across CPD programs (live, on‑demand, micro‑credentials, mandatory ethics, practice management).
- Build growth loops within the LMS/digital products that increase repeat purchase, completions, and cross‑sell.
- Develop scalable sponsorship packages (tiered, multi‑event, annual partnership models).
- Lead sponsorship strategy across the organisation

- Partner with the data insights team to build a unified dashboards for acquisition, engagement, retention, revenue, CLV, CPD usage, journey analysis.
- Partner with the Head of Content, Learning & Channels to drive audience growth, product uptake, and commercial performance across CPD, publications, and digital channels through targeted campaigns, segmentation, and conversion strategies
To be considered, you must demonstrate:
- Strong background in growth, commercial strategy, digital marketing, and partnerships.
- Experience scaling membership or subscription‑based organisations, ideally within the legal, professional, or education sector.
- High capability in data analysis, segmentation, funnel design, and dashboards.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in advertising and sponsorship.
- Exceptional stakeholder and relationship‑building capability within the legal ecosystem.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8–12+ years in growth, marketing, commercial, product, or revenue leadership roles.
- Experience in legal associations, professional bodies, education providers, or regulated industries is highly desirable.
