The Revenue Accounting Manager manages the end-to-end revenue lifecycle, from contract execution through cash realization. As an operational advisor, this role partners with cross-functional teams to evaluate deal structures, optimize billing operations, and assess revenue impacts to drive scalability and minimize revenue leakage. The Revenue Accountant supports monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, analyzes revenue transactions, reconciles accounts, and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy.
The duties listed below are the essential functions of this position, and they may change as the needs of the company demand. All associates are expected to do what is necessary to get the work done and to cooperate fully with their supervisor’s requests for additional or altered duties.
- Own the end-to-end quote-to-cash workflow, ensuring accuracy from initial order form creation through invoice delivery, billing, and cash collection.
- Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls related to contract management, revenue accounting, and billing operations to support scalability, accuracy, and compliance.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for billing and revenue platforms, including Zone Billing, ensuring alignment between bookings, billings, and revenue recognition.
- Serve as the primary reviewer of contract modifications, assessing revenue recognition implications, validating system updates, and ensuring billing and revenue treatment is recorded accurately and in accordance with ASC 606.
- Ensure revenue recognition complies with ASC 606 and company accounting policies.
- Manage the monthly financial close process for revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled accounts receivable, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Prepare revenue reporting and provide insights and analysis to management
Requirements

- 5+ years of revenue accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
- NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with billing and revenue platforms such as Zone Billing or Zuora strongly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience in SaaS, technology, telecommunications, or other subscription-based business environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
