Position Summary:

The Project Specialist plays a key role in executing and supporting organizational projects across all departments of the Ministerial Association of California Counties, Inc. (MACC), including Community Health (PneumaCare Health), Food Access (North Valley Community Food Bank), and Faith-Based Initiatives such as ELEO Family, New Leaf Industries and Westside Domestic Violence Shelter. Working as part of the Project Management Office (PMO), the Project Specialist supports project planning, coordination, and task completion. This role may independently manage small or minor projects and contributes to larger initiatives through managing project tasks under the direction of both the Project Manager or Program Director.

Ideal candidates bring strong project coordination skills, a heart for community impact, and the ability to work cross-functionally to implement solutions that serve our neighbors and advance the mission of MACC.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution and Coordination

  • Carry out day-to-day project tasks as assigned by a Project Manager, including research, documentation, vendor communication, training rollout, and logistics.
  • Support the development and implementation of cross-departmental initiatives, including Community Health, Community Food, Workforce Development, and Faith-Based Engagement.
  • Manage minor projects independently, including developing timelines, setting goals, tracking milestones, and reporting results.

Community and Partner Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to implement programs that align with organizational and community needs.
  • Assist in stakeholder outreach, engagement strategies, and participation efforts that reflect cultural humility and responsiveness.
  • Represent MACC’s mission and values in interactions with external partners, service providers, and local leaders.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement

  • Collect and analyze program and project data to support reporting, decision-making, and quality improvement.
  • Prepare project documentation including status reports, evaluations, close-out summaries, and compliance materials.
  • Track deliverables, deadlines, and risks using PMO-approved project tools and processes.

Resource and Volunteer Coordination

  • Assist with coordinating project-related budgets, procurement, and resources in collaboration with the finance and administrative teams.
  • Support volunteer engagement in alignment with project goals, including onboarding, task assignment, and retention activities.
  • Where appropriate, carry a small caseload or coordinate services for community-facing projects, such as Community Health or Housing Navigation.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Community Development, Business, or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in community-based project coordination, service delivery, or nonprofit programs.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in project coordination tools and documentation.
    • Strong written and verbal communication.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders.
  • Technology: Comfort with Microsoft Office, project management platforms, and data systems.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with CalAIM, Medi-Cal programs, or public health systems.
  • Understanding of the social determinants of health and systems of care in rural or underserved communities.
  • Bilingual or bicultural candidates encouraged to apply.
