MPS, a division of Macmillan Publishers, a leading US publisher of Trade and Academic titles, has a job opening for a Cycle Counter-REO in our Gordonsville facility. MPS provides back office support, warehousing, and, fulfillment for Macmillan US, and is their primary distribution facility for North America.

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for cycle counting of inventory at all locations (Main Warehouse, Returns, and offsite facilities), correcting cycle count errors, conducting physical counts requested, troubleshooting, and adjustment of physical inventory.  Travels to off-site locations to put away inventory, pull inventory and load trucks.  Assists other departments with rolling equipment duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Completes cycle counts. Enters information in WMS, reviews error reports and variance, adjusts count, and counts every new line.
• VISTA/WMS balancing – conducts history research, physical counts, adjustments, and reporting.
• Completes certification as a rolling equipment operator. Operates equipment in the performance of the job.   Assists with training new employees in the department on the safe operation of rolling equipment. Works at elevations of 35’ wearing a full-body harness.
• Performs all types of rolling equipment operator duties for other departments as needed.
• Works extended hours as required.
• Enforces established safety, health, and housekeeping policies and procedures in order to minimize injuries, loss of production time, and damage.
• Conforms to all company policies and procedures (Employee Handbook)
• Complies with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and rolling equipment certification.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as inventory records, purchase orders, traffic routing, bindery shipment records, orders, ISBNs, error reports, and to communicate effectively with employees and management.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Other skills and abilities: Computer skills to include VISTA, WMS, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Hourly Pay Rate: $20.37 to $24.99
